Breaking news: Whole Food employees from the United States have been directed by David Lannon, Regional President overseeing the London Whole Foods Market, to lie to British government officials in order to avoid paying the £2000 (US$4000) per employee work permit fee. There are many Whole Foods Market employees from the States who have come to work at the London store. The penalty is £5000 (US$10000) per offense. Someone is going to be sacked over this one. This issue is currently under investigation. Wait until the trade unions get hold of this tidbit and turn it into a political football. With Whole Foods' adamant anti-union stance, this situation can only hurt the company in the UK, a bastion of trade unions.
